Today it's been eight weeks. Eight weeks and 19 pounds lost! Whoo hoo!
Yesterday before leaving for a Great Shape for Life meeting I needed to find a smaller pair of pants. My belts were too large, and I was going to have to put a new hole in them. I started going through some boxes of all my smaller clothes, looking for a size 10 jeans. I was currently wearing a size 12. Finding a size 8 I put those on and to my surprise I could pull them all the way up and even button them. Whoo hoo! I started out wearing a tight size 14. I can't wait to go through my closet and get rid of all clothes that are too large. :-)
I have been feeling so much more energetic, so much full of life.
Only 17 pounds to go, I'm more than half way to my goal. Whoo hoo.
On to being healthy.

Two weeks and counting: Living with my Health Coach.
Boy has time flown.
Last Friday I weighed in and it showed I had lost a total of 8 pounds in two weeks, whoo hoo! Tomorrow is week three. I can't wait to weigh tomorrow.
This past week was very interesting. Saturday everyone had gone to Seattle and it was me and two wonderfully active grandkids for the weekend. By Sunday I was exhausted and experiencing PMS. I soon realized I was an emotional eater, which I had known but never seen it so black and white. I wanted to eat so badly. I finally sat down with a bowl of celery, probably more than three stalks, but I didn't care. It didn't completely kill the need to eat, eat, and eat some more, but it did help a bit.
At work I have been very busy with getting my responsibilities tided up since tomorrow is my last offcial day at work. I have gone three hours between meals. I noticed that I would sometimes be hungrier sooner at the next meal. I tried to wait the 2 1/2 hours, but if I needed to eat at 2 hours I would. It seemed that if I ate at 2 hours, my body would be fine by the next 2 1/2 hours.
I have to tell you about the Chicken & Wild Rice soup, it is so good. I put a chicken bullion and some celery in it. Delicious, but you need to know that it takes about 10 minutes before you get to eat it.
I hope I don't wait too long to blog next time. I plan to blog weekly with my weigh ins. Can't wait till tomorrow. I'm hoping for 2 pounds. But we'll see. Knowing that the added stress, or de-stressing may have effected my weightloss.
Can't wait to be slim again, for life.

Day Six-Eleven: Living with my Health Coach.
Wow, Day Six was great! What a night and day difference it was from day five. I really didn't feel hungry until it was about 2 1/2 hours after I ate previously. Eating prior to bed and making sure I eat on a regular schedule.
I haven't felt like blogging, just been busy with life and the momentum momentarily left.
On the morning of Day Eight I weighed in to see what my first week's weight loss was. 4 pounds! Well I was thinking that it seemed a little low. I had been following the diet, but wondered if Day 5 might have been almost a wash for me. I weighed the morning of Day Nine, Saturday morning and guest what, another pound. Whoo hoo! I like saying I lost 5 pounds. On Friday, I drank so much water that I knew I was flushing the fat away.
Saturday I went to a potluck picnic, which was somewhat difficult. I planned out my meals so that I would have my lean & green when I got home. I probably should have taken my lean and green with me. There was several "buckets" of Kentucky Fried Chicken, some grilled. I could have had some of the grilled KFC, but I was concerned about just what was on it. I popped a few cherry tomatoes in my mouth.
Sunday and today have been great days. I've been adventurous and have had shakes, hot chocolate, and great soft serve ice cream. I have not felt hungry, I even have to remind myself what time I need to eat again. It's amazing that this quickly after starting I am not feeling hungry.
I am trying to read Dr. Anderson's book, Habits of Health. I know that working through the companion workbook and reading this book I will have a better mindset of the food that we all hold near and dear. Right now when I think about a going to a sporting game or movie there are the favorite foods that we all love to have. I desire to reshape my thinking so I can live a healthier life. Jeff and I were talking about using the Medifast bars in the future in place of a candy bar. I have to say they are really good, and good for you.

Day Five: Living with my Health Coach.
Today has probably been the most difficult day of my journey. Difficult isn't even a good way to describe my day.
I have learned a few things that I will and need to do differently so I don't sabotage myself. I'm a "by the book" sort of person, play by the rules (except in rook). Last night I should have eaten another meal before I went to bed, it had been a couple of hours, I had already had my 5 + lean and green. When Jeff, my Health Coach called to check on me I mentioned I was hungry today. He advised me to be sure to eat a meal before bed if it is getting near to the time for a meal. Also he told me my first meal I eat should start within the first half hour of getting up. I am a morning procrastinator! I procrastinate to get out of bed, so eating is usually not on my mind, I just trying to get out the door. Those are two very good pieces of advise that will help me in my journey. I will have to have a meal ready to eat as I get ready, maybe the pretzels or cheese puffs.
I would have to rephrase my first statement, today has been a good day. A good day of learning. Glad I was able to find these helpful tips now rather than get frustrated. Thanks Jeff for helping to make this day a success.

Day Four: Living with my Health Coach
Oh my lands! The chocolate crunch bars are awesome!
All in all today went fairly smooth. I had a headache, probably from the lack of sugar quota my body is use to getting. It was gone by noon, which suits me just fine. Eating the meals while at work are easy to do. I even mixed up the vanilla pudding at lunch time so it would be an easy grab when it came time for another meal. I'm thinking that the sugar free flavorings could easily be added to the vanilla pudding to change up the regular flavors. Not sure what kinds of flavors might be out their to use, but it might be fun to check out some of them. Something I found it that if you mix the pudding with water from the refrigerator it will be chilled & ready to eat. You should quickly use a whisk, it sets fast.
Was going to have baked chicken with a salad but came home and found that the chicken I had baked last night was still sitting out. I had forgotten to put it in the refrigerator. I hate that when I do things like that. There went two leans for both Jeff and I. Jeff then informed me that a friend had prepared a lean and green for us, awesome Chicken Cacciatore. Thank you Dave, it was absolutely delicious. Jeff - my Health Coach encouraged me to get enough protein and not to short change the amount myself.
Made apple cinnamon cookies for my evening meal. They were easy and fast to put together from the apple cinnamon oatmeal and gave a variation from the regular oatmeal.

Day Three: Living with my Health Coach.
Today is Sunday and I would say that it was a pretty good day. I had a slight headache first thing in the morning and off and on all day, but was able to treat it with excedrin.
I had bars and cinnamon pretzel sticks, which are great, until we got home around dinner time. I had cooked up extra chicken and put it in the freezer, ready to be heated for our lean and green. It was nice not having to wait for food.
By the way I noticed that the apple cinnamon oatmeal has a recipe on the side of the box for cookies. Since I like to munch I think I will make these tomorrow night.
I would say my third day has gone pretty well. Looking forward to sleep

Day Two: Living with my Health Coach.
Today is Saturday. A chance to sleep in and maybe feel rested for a change. At 5 am the cat, Rufus had something and the dogs were all alerted that Rufus brought in a new toy to play with. Luckily it was only a moth, I went back to bed. At 8 am Rufus brought in a live bird, the dogs were all excited and wanted to catch it too. Jeff's comment was how many times do they get to experience wildlife right in their own home, well in our home it's been quite often. Rufus is a GREAT mouser and bird cat, been bringing in one or two birds a day lately. Our daughter Ashley, Rufus' owner, thinks that her dad might not be discouraging him. Why else would he be bringing in so many, and always when Jeff is here. I was pretty hungry by the time I got up to eat, didn't want to wait to prepare my food. I was glad that some of the food is ready to eat! The only difficult thing was trying to eat the bar slowly.
Today was definitely a hungrier day. I did fine with eating the food. The eggs are better than I expected, and since I like salsa on them I used that condiment choice with my eggs. I didn't have any bouillon today, but probably should have to take the edge off a little more.
Tomorrow is another day to look forward too. Not sure what to expect since we are going to visit the church that Jeff attended during his youth and visit with family as well. I'll be packing up what food I will need for the day. Even include extra since I don't know how long we'll be gone, advice from my health coach.

My Journey: First Day - Living with a Health Coach
Jeff and I have talked about this for some time but I finally took the plunge. I only wish I would have done this sooner. It would be nice to be feeling better and at my goal weight by now.
This morning I weighed in at 159 lbs. I plan to loose 36 lbs. This would give me the BMI of 22, right in mid range of healthy.
It was so funny this morning. I usually grab something to bite as I walk out the door for work, because ideally I should eat within half hour to an hour after I wake up I should be eating something while I am getting ready for work. Jeff wanted to be sure I got off on a good start so while I was in the shower he made me a bowl of oatmeal. To put a visual picture in your mind, he was nearly chasing me around the house with a bowl and spoon, making sure I ate. I had to laugh to myself, only if you live with a health coach will you get this kind of service. I don't think the oatmeal will work for me as a first meal on a work day. On Monday I think I will try a bar and save the oatmeal for the mid morning meal.
Today has been a really good day. I found that eating my snacks were not a problem, I did find that I wanted something more so between mid-morning and lunch I had a chicken bouillon. This was very surprisingly soothing. After lunch it is my habit to off set it with something sweet. I didn't have anything but felt that when I have that urge I need chew a piece of gum or drink one of the Flavor Infusers in my water.
I had some baked seasoned chicken with a green salad as my lean and green. I ate every bite, even though the dogs were trying their best to get their share. I have a meal coming up soon, which I look forward to eating a chocolate mint crunch bar and watch a TV show with Jeff, then it will be off to bed for a good nights rest.
Looking forward to being healthy and slim... Becky
